I can add this to the discussion about BRKT being able to breed in a pond. I have a pond that has not had any active management in at least 30 years. It has a population of BRKT. I have caught 3 thus far. 2 approximately 5" and one about 3.5". I can see many more. So I'd say it's more than just a chance lol.
