Bill Cody will probably chime in and note that there is no evidence of aeration impacting algae growth. I would agree.

It might be worthwhile to test a water sample and note the levels of orthophosphate. This is the phosphorous that makes plants grow. I had high levels last year, and have been treating with phosphorous binders this year. Algae is greatly reduced.
