I am jealous. A year-round trout pond would be sweet. With feeding, trout grow big and fast. In the one season that I had Rainbows and Brook Trout, they were pretty bold on the take.
I think LMB + BG or SMB + YP will work for you. These fish thrive in Northern Michigan similar to your latitude and elevation.
Yeah and here I am thinking about how to get a swampy pond setup with floating plants. LOL
