One more note I forgot to mention...
Due to a busted (and subsequently closed off) drainage pipe, we depend on the spillway. I found what had to be 500 newly spawned BG dead at the bottom of the drainage area off of the spillway. That pipe has been non-functional for nearly 20 years, so I am wondering about the impact of this happening year after year during heavy rain events, which happen pretty regularly during the Spring down here.
