At least with my pond, adding many same size class fish all at once was a mistake. They quickly stripped what I thought was an ample forage base to nothing, then they were reliant of feed to thrive, which they didn’t. Walleye are not big on feed training.
Have patience with your top predators. I am trying bass instead of the failed walleye this time, but starting with a very minimal approach to let them ladder stock all on their own. Just 12 4-5” in a well established 1/2 acre pond. I would have gotten even less if I had confidence of having them pull through our long winters and reproduce.
They are now 6” 2 months later and thriving, plus plenty of forage remains. I expect that next year I will have more bass for free, but most will participate in the circle of life. There isn’t a lot of fishing pressure in my pond, so your mileage will vary.
As for your recent pond filling, your fish just went through a fairly traumatic change in their living space. They need time to find their place in it, as well as make sure it is as bug free as possible. They will be back at the feeders soon enough. All of my fish get feed shy after big weather changes, especially if the water temperature drops a lot. There could be many reasons for this, but it is normal.
