Thanks everyone for the tips. Most of the things I'm doing. Is there any truth to the statement "anything over SPF 30 really doesn't work any better than SPF 30"?
I remember getting fried a few times as a kid, especially the first warm day of the Spring when the fish were biting. Shirt off, shorts on and concentrating more on the fishing than on how I felt.

I read some where that SPF 15 is about as good as it gets, and that higher ratings are subject to hyperbole. Any experts out there?

Surfer? We need pictures! I'm probably going to live to regret this. I only have two photos of me surfing. This was taken by the wife of one of my friends at one of my favorite surf spots. I appologize in advance for looking like a stuffed sausage in my wet suit. Here goes: JHAP Surfing:

Thanks Rainman. Surfing is very fun. It's also one of the most difficult sports (longest learning curve) I've ever been involved in.

Brettski 06/06/09 typed that this was an annual Thread. After reading thousands of threads in the last year, this has been maybe the second time I've seen this Murderer mentioned . As a member who is on first name basis with " Liquid Nitrogen " and now has a every 3 month standing appointment with a Dermatologist , I'll Bump it back up as a reminder to all to take care of the skin and eyes .( And a chance to see JHAP on the board again ) . I doubt you'll see them on the forum, but JHAP and Bski are still alive and ticking and retired in TX and TN, respectively.
FWIW, I now see a dermatologist yearly and limit my sun exposure a lot more than I used to.
