Just wondering what I should be testing for and how often I should test my pond? My pond is still filling up, it's about 50% full now. No real concerns but just trying to figure out what equipment I should purchase to properly maintain and keep records with? As of now I have purchased an API test kit and that's about it. Being in Texas I think water temp and DO seem like they will likely be concerns of mine in the future.

On a side note, how do you all measure water temperature and at what depths do you take the temperatures?

Dissolved and oxygen are the standards. Gotta admit, I quit testing quite a few years ago when the fish seemed to be doing well.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Dave, was that before the drought and cormorants? What about now?

Full pool now. We got some whopper rains. Only took 10 years.

My place is also 100% full at the moment. Apparently, a decent rain on saturated soil goes a really long way.
