I received my first order of the Performance Bass Blend 22mm Pellet fish food. It is similar to the Optimal Hand Throwwith an enhanced formulation. My fish inhale it. It is so much fun to throw the large pellets in the water and watch the catfish go after it. I am sure the Bass are there too. Thank you Endurance.

I ordered the endurance juvinile food and 42 percent and the next size up 40 percent to see if my BG will eat it without having to hydrate it. Still won't eat readily but devour it when hydrated. On another issue I purchased some 32 percent CC food from tsc to feed my CC and GSH they both readily consume it and are growing very well CC to about four pounds and GSH up to about eight inches. I can't get either one to be satiated but they do slow down some giving my BG more time to eat. In the last couple of bags of CC food there has been quite a bit of dust in the bags it is irritating to throw food out and have the dust blow back in my face so I screened out the dust thinking I could use it when I see fry cruising the pond but they have no interest in it. Rather than throw it out I mixed water with it put it in a gallon Ziploc cut the corner from the bag and squeezed it out into logs then cut it into 3/4" sections let it dry up some then use it as hand throw for my CC. It fills them up faster so I guess it's better than throwing it out

Sorry for the newbie question, but what exactly do you mean by "hydrated?" Soak it first, or it "hydrates" once it sits in the water?

Soak the feed to allow it to soften before feeding.

When hydrating high protein pellets do not add enough water to make a gravy as this leaches out good important vitamins and minerals from the pellets. You want to add just enough water to the pellets so they gradually soak up ALL the water and no gravy. When fully and properly hydrated pellets are solt and pliable and can be squeezed and rolled individually or into larger clumps. .

Some people make things more complicated than they need to be. Just purchase some high quality fish feed and feed your fish. They will inhale it. I have used Purina Aquamax MVP with great results. I am purchasing feed from Endurance (the old Optimal) and am having great results with their new formulations. I am using the Endurance Bass 22 mm hand throw pellets. Similar to the old Optimal Hand Throw. My larger fish love it.
