If that is a genetic trait, then it appears NOT to affect the spawning/nesting ability of the bass carrying that trait!

Might be interesting to determine if it affects their hunting ability and growth rate?

Next time you have a similar bass outing, you could do measurements and then fin clip some regular and some "scoliosis" bass - and then observe the results in the future.

P.S. I apologize to you for frequently offering more work for YOU to do at your pond. (And we are not even married!) I just thoroughly enjoy your reports on the changes in your large pond over time.
