Just read a short article about testing fish for "experimental learning", much like they used to do with rats.

If anyone is interested about fish learning, or teaching other fish, then you might enjoy reading the research paper.

A couple of books you just might like to read are What A Fish Knows, the inner lives of our underwater cousins by Jonathan Balcombe, and Why Fish Don't Exist, a story of Loss, Love, and the Hidden Order of Life by Lulu Miller. The first discusses the many forms of intelligence and senses expressed by fishes. The second is a bit of an historical treatise on the life of David Starr Jordan, a taxonomist obsessed with fishes.
I read these back to back this winter. They have given me a much greater appreciation of what we're dealing with in our ponds and other BOWs.

Check out Paul Roberts YouTube channel called the nature of fishing, he discusses bass and really dives deep into their behavior. Quite amazing actually.

Interesting but only scratches the surface. Contrary to what the study says there have been quite a few studies on the subject several discussed here and in PB mag.
