I just ordered a water test kit and we just got another rain storm last night. All of that rain is falling on saturated ground, so there's a good chance the pond will be with in 80% full by the end of this rain event. I'm probably going to wait for the water to clear up before taking my test sample, so 3-4 days after the last rain. Assuming the water test comes back normal then I'm guessing there really isn't any reason to pause on stocking the fish?

Totally separate question that kind of spun up here, is it important to have equal numbers of male and female bluegill? I totally understand that equal numbers is preferred because if we toss in 20 of them and only 5 are females then I essentially only have 5 fish that can spawn, however is there some sort of negative outcome if the balance is off? The owner of the pond that we are pulling these out of has his land for sale, so he really doesn't care at all what we pull out so I was just going to pull out whatever we can catch and then toss them in our pond.
