Predators are always trying to get them. Hawks, owls, bobcats, coyotes. But they generally don't hang around in the open water very long.

Thanks, that's what I was kinda thinking, hoping, they probably wouldn't have much nesting success if they completely abandoned the nest with one little spook.
It does seem later then usual tho for them to be nesting, hatching.
