I must of missed something on the forum that sends you a email when your post gets a response ?
Bassquatch,
I have taken your advice and put several tons of lime where most of the runoff comes in. That part of the field is very soft and if I had it in the winter would not of put big ruts in the field. Not really a problem, its already happened in July if we get a lot of rain. Being our pond is like in a fish bowl I could put all the lime around it. However after I did the math. 22 tons of lime equal the thickness of a ordinary sheet of paper over 3-surface acres. I bought a Duro Max semi trash pump with cast iron impeller 320 GPM ? 7HP. I bought 2, 280 gallon plastic totes in frame with steel pallets. I have 4 forks for my 7 ft tractor loader. My plan is to cut the tops off and strap the totes together 8 feet wide. I will add a section to the pallets to carry the pump. I will have a valve arrangement to take water from pond or from totes and discharge will also have dual fittings so I can stir lime in totes. Will have trash screen inside bottom of totes. Will fill totes 50% before i put 1/3 a cubic yard of lime in totes and stir with a canoe padel. Than top it off with pond water and stir again. I have two tractors with loaders on them. I will never need to move totes full. Will mark off how far I can reach to the center 200 feet and using a 50 foot 3 inch hose with a two inch nozel. Generally the wind is blowing in my favor. I also have a 10 X 10 floating dock that could hold at least a ton. But I think I would wash it all off before I got across the pond one time. the pond dam area is the longest 600 feet and the pond itself is more of a triangle. We just had the feed store sling it into the water with no problems so do you have that option?
