Bass feed on appropriately sized forage. For the most part, a large bass will snub a small forage fish. They go for food appropriate to their size. Simply not worth the energy expended.

Yep, research shows that Florida strain bass and their progeny are harder to catch. It appears from some research that F1's ain't far behind.
