I'm betting you are seeing seeds that are floating that sprouted and those "spiders" are the roots. Do you have elms (probably Siberian Elms) near your property? You would see similar "seeds" on the ground near your pond. (If not even close, then I am well aware that my eyes are no longer 29!)
