A little more investigation and it is FA algae as you said. Pulling some out and squeezing the water out it feels like cotton with no odor. Watching a video on Algae Corner I believe it is Pithophora also called cotton or horsehair algae. Is this algae good for your pond or should I try to eliminate or reduce it? Do Triploid grass carp eat this? What about Tilapia? I think I read where Tilapia will eat it but it would take a lot in a 3 acre pond. I have considered adding Tilapia as forage but the time I looked into it they seemed rather expensive.
