I caught less big (5-7lb) bass the last couple of years than normal. But, we've had drought with extended low water levels, more people fishing, and some changes in amounts of brush in the water. So short answer yes, we've seen a decline. Long answer is no, no evidence that it's due to genetic depression (no evidence that I know of anyhow).
I suppose I should rephase my question: Is it good practice to add genetics to a pond, even if there is no sign of a problem? Just do it to keep things healthy?
