Pond Boss Forums POND CONSTRUCTION Renovating a Pond or Lake? Pond Renovation

Last fall, we cleaned out and renovated a small pond on our property. I pumped water from my large pond into the renovated pond and let it sit all winter. Now, I would like to stock and raise Fathead Minnows in this pond to feed the fish in my other pond as a supplement to my fish feeder. As of now, the small pond has no plant life in it. Would anybody out there have recommendations as to what type of plant material I should introduce into my minnow pond? Or, should I just let it go and see what might start growing? I have researched some plants such as Duckweed but it appears they can become invasive. Thanks in advance for any advice.

No duckweed or watermeal. American pondweed is usually ok.

I wouldn't have any plants in it. Just habitat for the FHM to spawn on, then remove that habitat to seine the pond. Or drop the water level in the pond below the habitat to seine.
