Jake, I’m a green sunfish fan. They will outfight a sissy bluegill any day. At best, they spawn annually. When you hook one, you know it.

Bluegills, OTOH, pull off multiple spawns. 90% of all the fish eggs laid and hatched get eaten before they can spawn. But that’s their purpose. If they all lived, you would quickly have an O2 crash with resulting fish kills.

Don’t sweat the dreaded green sunfish. They’re a bonus.
