Anyone know what the friction loss, in psi would be for 3/4 or 1 inch poly tubing at 10 cfm for a 1000 foot run? I know the scale is in inches of water, but I don't understand how this works.

James,

Someone will answer your question, not me...but I did want to ask you to consider 1 inch or 3/4 pvc instead of the cheaper poly tubing.

When I installed mine, a 600 + foot run, discussions with the supplier revealed that the poly tubing is never pressure tested before shiping and can on ocassions have pin hole leaks right from the manufacturer. Leaks that would be almost impossible to find when installed and leaks which would drain away your pressure. PVC, although more expensive, avoids this potential problem. Also, pvc is much more durable, stands up to external force (driving a tractor over it). Something to consider...my advice is don't save a penny to loose $.

Anyone know the difference in cost between pvc and poly?

I looked at the chart in the link, but do not understand the units they are measuring in.

Here's another reference. http://www.aquatext.com/tables/frict-air.htm#CFM%20and%20PSI%20%20Table
Make sure to click where it says to get units of cfm and psi, this may be more understandable.

Gotta get back to fishin!
