Personally, I think GC get inquisitive and nudge/mouth soft baits a lot without being really hungry for them. They often show up where I am fishing for BG and seem to check out the bait w/o much interest; they actually take the bait seriously a very small fraction of the time. Freaks out the BG and temporarily ruins the spot frequently (happened last night), though.

I have to really target them while casting the bait to get them on the line, as they are a very low-percentage bait taker.
