Here is an interesting post I just received from the Michigan DNR about Christmas trees as fish cover. This is the first time I have seen the practice not recommended. They mention that it is a soft wood (of course) and that the limbs are too dense for fish to hide (never heard that before). https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/MIDNR/bulletins/3c81e75
