B Bug, with that attitude, you should have nothing but success for your project. With the goals you have for your pond, your plan will not hinder your pond goals goals whatsoever. You are correct, feeding the BG will indirectly feed the LMB and it will help the LMB. What you will have to keep an eye on is the LMB numbers. Harvesting the excess LMB will be a priority.

What you might see is some of the LMB waiting for the BG food to clump together, then they will eat the larger clumps of food. That's OK. I'd try to catch those fish, and fin clip them so you can ID them in the future and track their RW's vs the LMB that aren't eating the food.
