I think I saw my first ever cormorant at the pond yesterday. Flew off as I approached the pond. A shotgun will be added to the list of "tools for the property" on visits now. Won't be aiming to take the fella out should I see them but I'm not opposed to scaring the dickens out of them...

On the weather....Looked like the pond raised about 8" from the rains and was still draining off the watershed. Typically takes two days for the water to make it off the hill and into the pond. Should be just in time for the next chance of rain.
