Stocked 30 in late summer 2022 with sizes maybe 6-10". Lost one confirmed due to a herring. This one isn't the biggest but within an inch or two I'd guess. Measured at 17". Still lots of golden shiners which I thought would be wiped out by now.

Beautiful fish, did you get a weight on it?

No weight, next time when I have a good scale available.

Looks healthy to me. Good belly and thick tail. A weight to go with the length is the best way to tell. Now you have another excuse to go fishing again!

Is that bass from your pond with the koi, or do you have multiple ponds?

All in the same pond. The koi and a half dozen bass hang at the dock for food.

The State of Kansas fishery guys have a "large bass" program.

They feed those LMB with a diet of koi.

I didn't know that Optimal had come out with a LMB/Koi feed mixture!

The bass certainly won't be eating these koi. The eggs/fry if the spawn next year perhaps.

Yea, the Universal Optimal Hand Throw. Good for every species of fish. Maybe thats why they are fat as heck.
