Through the years I have posted number of threads that have introduced controversial ideas on topics of fish. These have certainly been a disruption and they do create problems. They often interfere with advice the Mods are giving. It has been a source of aggravation for them and many of the Mods would have had me silenced long ago. That I have been allowed to introduce those controversial ideas for so long, I think, says a whole lot. I appreciate that there has been tolerance from the powers that be to allow it. The controversial ideas I have posted through the years were intended to create interest, conversation, and learning that can augment the many valuable years of experience that are shared here.

As Sunil noted in my deleted post, I don't manage ponds for a living. Locally, I don't have a private pond that I can exercise full control of. The one pond I do have is located 4.5 hours away. So yes, I cannot offer advice derived from such experience. The forum has done a really good job of answering most of my questions. Where I couldn't get answers, I have sought to learn from scientific research. One thing I would like for people to understand is that information corroborating commonly held ideas have no value to mention. We know that already so to speak. My predicament is that if learn something worth mentioning, it will be, by necessity, controversial and sourced to scientific research. In that sense, all I can contribute is new, different, and likely to be disagreed with by a majority. Only those who fact check me by reading the sources could settle their minds on agreement. Anyways, the bargain we struck was to back up those posts with the source of the information and I have done my level best to meet my part of that bargain.

In the deleted post I mentioned that we need to move on. I agree with Pat that the bickering should stop and I agree that the controversial ideas I present encourage disagreement and bickering. I will own my responsibility for that and I question whether the environment is conducive to us all finding benefit. That we are not able to have conversations around these ideas without this kind of discourse is a very good reason to stop doing it. To that end, I will not post anything that might be interpreted as contradiction going forward.

Pat, as long as I am welcome here I'll be around. What I contribute is definitely going to change. Expect attaboys and waytogos. I want you to know I appreciate your friendship and that I'll always have a ear for anything you might like to discuss. This applies to any who have befriended me.
