Go after dark with a good flashlight. Illuminate small fish in shallow water and wait and watch. Let us know what you find out.
Good idea. Small, MOTIONLESS bass in clear water are generally pretty easy to observe, especially compared to daylight when they might be acting like little submerged rockets!
