Hi everyone,
I'm hoping for some guidance on air tubing. We're ready to trench our airline from the garage to the pond, overall around 175ft including what's going into the pond. I'm getting confused on what's needed. Google searching Poly tubes is mostly pulling up irrigation tubing that says it's not for air, air lines like you'd use in the garage don't seem to match the descriptions I've read. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I use black poly irrigation tubing for burying under ground, then transition to Vertex BottomLine self sinking tubing 0.6" ID I use mostly 1" ID for the buried tubing.

I use the BotomLine Tubing to connect to the compressor (3' or so) transition to the black poly, then at the edge of the pond transition to the BottomLine self sink tubing and that connects to the AirStation.

Options - For a short distance (12"-36") from the compressor to the black poly irrigation tubing underground, I use either heater hose or garden hose so you can always easily remove or pull off the airline from compressor. Blackpoly tubing is very difficult to pull off the compressor. When you get the black poly to the pond edge then add the weighted tubing or whatever you want to use as an underwater airline to the air bubbler disk/s or tube/s. In the past and some still today use black poly as an underwater airline. However if you want the airline tobe on the bottom you have to add weights to the airline to hold it on the bottom. For one of my temporary diffusers I use good quality garden hose as airline from pond edge to diffuser. You don't want your underwater airline to develop kinks that restrict air flow. Remember - diffusers should be pulled and cleaned each year.
