The DNR here logs "Bio Assessments" of fish species in different areas of the state. They have a site where they collect and report that is upstream from the marsh that drains through the area we were collecting. I note that they had a few Pumpkinseeds collected last fall at that site, so I wonder if I misidentified a few smaller pumpkinseeds as OSS when I was sorting. They don't look THAT much alike, but just enough that I'm questioning myself. I know for sure the first couple were OSS, but after that I was moving quickly so we could get them transported. It's possible that some portion of that 15-20 were not OSS. I'll have to get back there and see if I can catch a few to look at more closely.
