I have a EasyPro SRV50 Rotary Vane compressor with two diffusers in an 1/3 acre pond 10-12 feet deep. I have had this particular unit since 2016. I take it in in the winter and bring it back out in May until October.
This year when I brought it out it ran fine for about 2 weeks. We lost power for a few hours and when the power came back on the pump didn't turn on. I went out and checked everything, then checked the circuit breaker. It was tripped. I flipped it back on and went out to look at unit. It was running but the top of the capacitor was smoking so I unplugged it. The capacitor was 250v, 30 Mfd, 18%. The Company, easy pro, stopped making or handling that type of pump so has not capacitors that will work. I have tried two different ones, one is 250v, 30 Mfd, 5% and the other is 440v, 30 Mfd, 5%. With both of these the motor will start and run fine for about 15 minutes. Then it cycles on and off every 60 seconds or so. Anyone have any ideas?

The capacitor may not be the only thing that was damaged.

I assume the compressor is a 1/4hp to 1/3hp and a rotary vane compressor? Easy Pro compressors are normally built by GAST mfg. As I know these rotary vane style compressors they do not have capacitors. However the Gast 3/4hp has a capacitor. To get the motor started the smaller motors have start switches. The type of capacitor that you list are typically used on rocking piston compressors.
