If I am building a pond in Georgia and plan to only fill it using rainwater, do I need to involve the USACE (I want to do this by the book). I think I need to based on the Georgia Pond Guide, but all of those permits seem to be talking about what to do if you are going to use a stream to feed into your pond or if you are messing with the wetlands.

Also, do I need a permit for grading my land if I already have to get the the NPDES General Permit for Storm Water Discharges Associated with Construction Activity according to the guide? Or does that permit cover any grading I would do during construction?

I also considered starting a small tree farm to apply for the Farm Pond Exemption (if I have to involve the USACE) and wanted to know if that is worth it to avoid all the permits involved in Recreational Ponds.

Thanks for any replies and info in advance!

Thanks for the source! Sometimes the gov can be so hard to get in touch with and I like hearing from ppl who have been through it themselves.
