Here is a pic of some of the other fish that were stocked in SCFarm's pond.
A lot of experts will say otherwise but this is an F1 RESxBG.

I'm no expert, and I hate to contradict you, but I'd say that's an F1 BGxRES. smile

F1 I get.....first gen of the cross.
First letters after F1 are the Female followed by the Male species of that cross or is it reversed Male and then Female?

That is a question for an expert. I just go alphabetically.

Male is usually first cross listed.

here is more on the question.

Sunfish (Centrarchid Fishes) genetics - Pond Boss Forum
https://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthre...ords=childers&Search=true#Post449213

From Childers (1967 data)

It is not known which sex is the heterogametic condition for the sex chromosomes of the four experimental species; however, Haldane (1922) formulated a rule which furnishes a clue: When in the F1 offspring of a cross between two animal species or races, one sex is absent, rare, or sterile, that sex is always the heterozygous sex. Using Haldane's rule, Krumholz (1950), in a study concerning BR F1 hybrids, pointed out that the males of both bluegills and red-ear sunfish are probably homozygametic for sex and the females heterozygametic. The application of Haldane's rule to all possible F1 hybrids produced from red-ear sunfish, bluegills, and green sunfish indicates that the female is the heterozygametic sex in these three species.

I haven't seen that big boy since then, but the pond has several fat 11-12" hybrids that could break the record. (I was pulling BGxRES up to 10" back then, but switched to returning everything 9" and up shortly thereafter.)

My Personal Development Plan at work (required by the world's largest aerospace company, best known for doors falling off in flight) lists the goal of "Grow a 3 pound Bluegill".

I am pretty sure that goal is readily achievable.

Just take some of the loose bolts at work OUT of the fuselage dead spaces before the installers finish final assembly, and stick them down the gullets of your Bluegills.

I hear some walleye tournament anglers used that technique to great effect last year! grin

P.S. That is a laudable development goal. I hope you do manage to reach it!

I assume meeting your PDP will help facilitate a promotion or at least positively impact your compensation. Good Luck!
