The SMB finally started biting, two years old now. This is the biggest so far at 10 1/2"

Stocked RES two years ago as fingerlings, just never see them they are so shy. Yesterday they were schooled up in a couple large groups along the edge above the pea gravel shelf and look to be 6"-7", I would think maybe pre-spawn getting ready.
They were only in a foot or two of water, they kept bumping into what I guess are the females. Now and then a couple 6" golden shiners would dart through and stir them up. I like just being able to finally see them and how they are doing, I was able to get a really good look at them. After spawn they will no doubt go back deep and reclusive.
