A Legal, a Moral , an Ethical , Question. I operate a Pay to Fish Ponds business. Iphone has the capability to send a "Group Message " to my Iphone customers , when sent, the message shows all of the Iphone Telephone numbers the message was sent to. No Names, No Identifiers other than the other numbers this particular message was sent to. Example message " We have now stocked Saugeye , The Walleye Slot Limit as of today is greater than ??" and less than ??" , no harvesting of Walleye or Saugeye outside these limits, to prevent harvesting of our Saugeye ". My Grandchildren , college age students, immediatley protested that this was violating the customers privacy . What say you, from a Legal, Moral, or Ethical view point . It shows all of that information to YOU, or to every single person in Group Message?

I have some business related emails where companies have put my email into a group email with hundreds of other people, and everyone gets all of the email addresses.

Personally, I hate that. I think it only takes one unethical person in the whole chain and my email with a known industry target can be sold many times over.

Sometimes, there is a difference between what is "legal" and what is "right"!


P.S. I am not a tech-savvy guy. However, if all of the contact numbers are going to everyone in the Group Message, surely there is a tech means of blocking that info to the receivers?

You don't want to do anything that would share personal information between customers without their express permission.

NO ! NEVER ! Just adjustments to limits, hours open , slot limit information, How to identify GSF from BG or WE from SAE , etc , etc.
If I were the reciever in this scenario , I wouldn't mind in the least . But it shows a list of telephone numbers sent to , no names. We won't print pictures on our FB page without Adult permission , and then no names ,no home town . Even with permission. Still trying to get BCC Texting working on Iphones .
