Robinson, The house is 1750 sq ft living space it is open from one end to the other, 3 stores, 27 foot high ceiling, double lofts, you can see it in detail on my home design pages of the rockytoppers site. It's not really an A frame it has vertical walls and wrap around porches. If all three floors spanned the entire foot print the shell could house 3000+ sq ft. As for cost I designed it and built 90% of it myself in 1996. less than 85k invested(excluding my labor) It was very labor intensive. I would estimate in todays dollars if you hired it all done it would be more costly than a conventional ranch style because of the added labor cost to roof it and work at the 27 foot heights, took lots of scfolding to build.
