I got a real good deal on some hybrid striped bass today. My local fish farm had some they couldn't sell, so they cut me a deal. 10-14" fish for $1.75 apiece. Bought all of 'em. I haven't ever raised them before. What kind of growth rates can I expect?

I have no experience with HSB but from what I've read here you can expect them to double their size in a year when fed. Here's a comprehensive post on HSB: http://www.pondboss.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=000199

You're going to make Meadowlark start crying while sitting by his pond in his underwear when he reads your post about that awesome deal on the HSB.

I went out to feed my fish this morning, and the HSB's are allready feeding. It took my other fish weeks to start coming to the pellets.

h20fwlkillr,
Are you serious? $1.75 for 14 inch HSB? Are you serious?
What a deal. You are just going to love those fish. The growth rate varies of course, but I think you can reasonably expect them to double every year for awhile....at least mine have, in spite of me.
How many in what size pond?
p.s. and yes that sound you hear Sunil, is whaling and knashing of teeth

Sorry Meadowlark, I couldn't help it. The image Theo created in his pond boss news thing is just too funny in it's own context.

He couldn't get them sold. I bought 27 of them. He said he was losing money, but he really needed the space. I thought $1.75 was cheap so I took every single one he had. I thought they would go nice in my new 1 3/4 acre pond.
