Pondmeisters must deal with the threat of droughts, which have happened in the past and will happen in the future. But there is some good news: Official stats show that the US has not experienced more droughts since 1895. In fact, the worst droughts were in the 1920s, 30s, and early 50s. My pond got hit with a drought last year, folks in western Kansas are in one now. But at least there's no sign they are getting worse.
