Does anybody have factual knowledge about how long it takes a pond to become stratified after you turn off aeration? I have a brand new 14' deep, 1/4 acre pond that I am considering using a windmill to aerate. That means intermittent aeration with random intervals of no aeration that could last for days. My primary purpose for aeration is to de-stratify the pond. It must take a while for the pond to re-stratify and for de-oxygenation of the bottom water to occur. I just wonder how long that might take in a 1/4 acre pond?
