CC are cavity nesters, so unless you have cavities for them to lay their eggs in and the male to guard, they won't reproduce in a pond. BUT, if your catch one and release it, you may never catch it again - they learn that quickly and are that smart. A cavity could be a metal milking jug, 30-55 gallon barrel, culvert pipe, hollowed out hole in a steep clay bank, large crevice where concrete rubble was placed, etc., etc. They need a place large enough to swim into and to turn around in to face outward.
