Hope you are finally getting some much deserved rain!

We appreciate your rain dance! However, I hope your dance card still has a few open spots remaining.

We have only had a few tenths at our place before lunch, but it has been doing several hours of a gentle soaker rains since then. The radar projection indicates we should be in that pattern for several more hours before it finally moves out.

Our wheat has been turning yellow, but I think it is not beyond saving if these rains do come through.

I was working at the farm a few days ago and the 30-40 y.o. willow trees in some of our low spots were even dying. I hope they make it! I like their diversity, and they do not spread at all to our pasture grasslands on the high ground.

Talked to a farmer yesterday in SW Kansas where the drought has been even worse. He was tickled pink since he already had over 1.5" in the rain gauge by his tractor shed.

Appreciate the kind words! We only got slightly more than a half inch here in Central Kansas but either way it is significantly more than we have had over the last several months. We are happy to get whatever we can.

Similar to what Rod said, most of my local farmers are hopeful that this rain will keep the wheat harvest alive and continue in the next month or so to try and turn the harvest around.

From my side personally, it has helped to further saturate the bank and newly constructed dam for my pond which I am hopeful will make it easier to control pond water levels from my well-fed pond..

We got 2 tenths over the last 2 days. No runoff for the ponds but way better than hot and windy.

The farmers here in central MO are putting up huge clouds of dust planting the crops right now, looks weird, more dust then a combine puts out while harvesting, you can see a planter working a mile away by the dust. not sure if Ive seen it this dry, ever, this time of yr. My pond is still down about 4".

Catscratch, my best rain dance was pumping my forage pond full. As soon as Mother Nature saw that I went to the trouble just in case of continued drought, she started raining like crazy down here. Sheesh...

Just a couple tenths here. Wheat in our area looks pretty good but needs rain. Larger ponds still about a foot low although the sediment and forage ponds are closer to full because they get more runoff area compared to their size. Another chance for rain later today and tonight but not a big chance.
