Well, my leak s slowed to from 1/2 inch per day to a little less than 3/8 inches per day. Although evaporation has increased a little, overall I'm losing less water each day.

Now, what is my guess to why the leak has slowed.

The pond is down 30 inches, with the less head pressure on the leak the less water that can be pushed through.

What do you all think?

Here is a link to the thread disscusing my pond.

From what I've noticed, most pond seepage
occurs in the lesser compacted first 2 feet
of dam soil below the permanent water level.

That is very interesting -- I should measure my leak and see if I get the same results as you scsims.

Boy I sure wish we could get some rain, but there is none in sight. Unless if Denis track this way later next week.

scsims,
I live in Kentucky also. Check with Southern States if you have one in your area. They sell Bentonite for around 7.50 for a 50 lb. bag. I don't have any experience with it so good luck. Yea we need rain bad.
