So have question I have been wanting to ask for awhile. When dads pond was dug/built. The earthmovers found 4 springs and just dug around them to keep digging the pond. Would you think it would do any good to break open the springs at all or just keep them how they are? Any pros/cons for doing this?

Well if the springs were inside the pond basin, then the earthmovers knew what they were doing.
Springs don't have a one way valve on them. So in times of low rain they will suck water out of the pond. If it's a high water table situation now, then they did that so they wouldn't have the pond flooded while they were digging in it.

If you like how the pond is now, I would not change anything.
