In stained (reduced visibility) water, predators like LMB, SMB, etc. (not catfish) feed near surface where they can see prey. They also feed pelagically (open water) for the same reason. This is a general concept and not in every case. Also, predators have to feed on what is available. See the next PB Mag for an article!! Last edited by ewest; 01/24/23 11:09 AM.

RossC R Joined: Apr 2020 Posts: 152 Likes: 40 WINONA, TX	This time of year shad seem to be their main feeding pattern. Water is generally clearer unless we have had a big rain. Even cold blue bird days will produce a lot of surface feeding action. Ross Canant
