I have been running a Vertex system for 15 years, 8 to 16 hours a day in season. I keep a cooling fan (which sucks air from outside of the shed holding the compressor) blowing directly on the compressor while the system is running. No problems so far with zero maintenance (yeah, that's probably wrong).
