You normally will not over aerate a 1/2 pond with that type & model compressor. In the 1/2 ac use two, three or four diffusers. Using two, three or four diffusers on one head will respectively move more water per hour which means turning the pond over faster and not needing to run the diffuser as long each day. 4 heads will turnover the pond twice as fast as a two head model. That compressor with 4.7cfm should operate up to a 5 disk or tube diffuser/s.
I prefer 5/8" ID airline; 3/8 causes excess backpressure for the pump. I would just buy the pump and build your own diffuser using 3 or 4 heads. Move more water faster so pump lasts a lot longer before a rebuild or motor quits.
Be aware the pump will need rebuilding and I don't see rebuild kits; are they available. What do you do when it needs rebuilding? Try and find the brand name of the pump. Is it a china pump?
