Warm today, but supposed to hit freezing this weekend. Following that, temps will stay in 40s & 50s during the day, 30s at night.
I've just had boat repaired, so will take the net and go "fishing" for Tilapia during the cold snap. My son has a smoker, I'm looking forward to trying it out. May get some RBT stocked in a few weeks & once they grow, bet they'll be good smoked as well!

Hope you have better luck than me. I was only able to get one by hook and line and one with a cast net before mine all died and floated to surface. That was with a lot of trying.

I rarely catch TP with a hook. Best luck has been netting them when float sluggishly near the surface due to cold. But knowing exactly when this will happen is sometimes puzzling.

I was able to net 3 freezing but alive fish out of 50 floaters.

I was able to net 3 freezing but alive fish out of 50 floaters. Ah, so trolling with a large chunk of dry ice is the best way to harvest tilapia!
