Have never seen a single clam or mussel of any type.Today I see on the bank of my pond mutliple piles of opened shells. They have clearly been opened and eaten - I assume by racoons? Are they buried in the mud at the bank and how could this many just show up out of nowhere? I am confused. PS I attached two photos - are they opening ok?
