Did that tilapia hybridize in your pond, or are you able to purchase hybrids from your fish supplier?
This is what they refer to as a red Nile tilapia. It is my understanding it was developed by crossing with a Mozambique originally so they are not pure Niles. I ordered these from a supplier in Florida and had them shipped in as fry. They have poor survival compared to the normal colored tilapia. The birds really go after the pink/red ones.
