Brandon: I understand the sentimental attachment; but would also bet it cheaper to build a new pond from scratch. I'm not a "professional", but I do have an excavator that I have used for multiple things such as digging out mud around a pond. Mud is expensive and time consuming. Unless you have a really big excavator or crane, you may have to drain and let it dry out to reach the center of even a relatively small pond. You have to dip the mud out and either truck it off or pile it. If you pile it, you may have to push it further away from the pond with a dozer to prevent it from coming back. I'd really think you'd be much better off financially to dig a new pond. Jeff
