Handthrown is expensive, but in my experience well worth it. Larger fish can get substantial meals without as much competition from BG and small fish. Optimal 1 inch feed has stayed good for a year in my trailer, better than little pellets.
While a few giant BG & CNBG will try to take the big chunks, LMB and HSB dominate. Turtles have a harder time stealing them, too.
